In California the Legislature has just passed a bill to legalize same-sex marriage but the current (and very unpopular) Governor says he will veto it (prevent it from becoming a law), and the California Supreme Court is expected to soon legalize same-sex marriage year anyway. Even people in the polyamory community agree that same-sex marriage needs to be fixed first, and correcting US laws where polyamory and marriage are concerned can come later.
