It involves individual assessments of the mothers and their children, focus groups for parents and direct observation of the FAST team to understand the roles of each discipline. All families in the program have experienced domestic violence and homelessness. The findings will be compared to over 10 years of FAST data and to a middle school application of the program with an occupational therapist in Boston. |

| Research on homeless adolescents has frequently been neglected due to their transience. The aim of this study is to contribute governmentgrants to the shelter in which the study will governmentgrants be performed and to the field of occupational therapy that explores evidence based practice and interventions geared at the homeless youth population. The information acquired from this study should contribute to these institutions in governmentgrants ways that provide exploration of homelessness from the perspective of the adolescents, therefore providing greater insight into the experiences that influence a homeless adolescent’s capacity to successfully transition out of homelessness. The design of the study will be multi-method, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The study will be framed in theories of phenomenology, hermeneutics and the Model of Human Occupation. |
