Do we need to tell kids that nothing that happens to them is real until it's been filmed and shown to other people? What makes you think they "latched onto her in the guise time europe of something grand and noble"? Based on what they told some interviewer? Yes, because, again, that's all I have to go on. And wasn't the whole point of this piece that what you SAY you're doing is more time europe important that what you're ACTUALLY doing? You make a teenage melodrama with some drug use, explicit language and a little bit of sex play to differentiate it from any given episode of "Dawson's Creek," but you SAY that you're trying to make a poignant and unflinching portrait of modern teen angst, which is supposed to forgive your sins of cinematic excess. Or did I miss something? Just because it's been done by others before her doesn't make it any more right this time around.
