Below is a list of the groups that received grants, with a brief description of the activities that were funded. The Advocacy Project - £1,850 The project provides mental health advocacy to Black people, primarily in the wards of Toxteth and Granby. The Community Chest grant will cover the cost of giving a peer advocacy training course. The course will train service users and mental health workers to act as advocates for people experiencing mental health giving problems. Broadgreen Heart Support Group - £359 The Group is run by and for people who have personal experience of cardiac problems. Its giving aim is to improve the general health of people who have been patients at Broadgreen’s Cardiothoracic Centre.
