I'm a 16 year old female who can in fact relate to the main character in several ways. At 13 I was insecure and lonely. I just wanted to fit in, so by stealing, smoking and skipping aotearoa I finally felt "cool" aotearoa and in. Oh and these things don't just occur in the inner city parts (where I've lived), but also suburban areas as well (where I also have lived). I think 13 is a excellent movie. A straight-A student girl who just wants to fit in, to belong, to somehow escape from all her problems, excapes in the most rebellious of ways. |
