The primary objective of the project was to conduct a needs assessment of cervical cancer prevention in the region. Activities include estimating the adult female population, business support assessing the epidemiology of cervical cancer, studying national health policy and interventions, evaluating the medical infrastructure and treatment options, assessing the availability and types of information, and defining knowledge and attitudes of women and local health professionals towards cervical cancer prevention. |

| Jamaica FAMPLAN With small grant funding, FAMPLAN increased the awareness of cervical cancer prevention measures in i had sex with my mother 32 Jamaican communities. Educational workshops were conducted for health professionals and community women, and the radio and newspapers were used to promote the project and the importance of screening in preventing cervical cancer.
